They apparently don't make beds long enough in Tixtla for Elder Slade !!
My First Baptism Ever!
Hi Everyone,
Here is the latest news from Max. He told me last week that he was having a baptism on Saturday (16th). I was very excited for him. I asked questions about the person's name, does he have a family, his conversion etc. You know Max – he's a man of few words. Here is Max's response. Name – Juan Carlos, I am sure he has a family, he works 18 hours a day, baptism is in the next town because Tixtla does not have a baptismal font. That's it! I hope he is writing in his journal to record this very special day.
Anyway
I found out today when I received his email that Max actually performed the baptism by looking at the pictures! I was caught off guard. He never said anything about performing the baptism. He said that he completed the baptismal prayer without having to repeat it, which he was relieved since it was in Spanish. These are the first pictures I have received since he left the mission home. Included are pictures of Max and Juan Carlos in their baptismal clothes and his companion Elder Carlos. He seems happy and adjusting. He has come to really like the town and is settling in with his companion.

He has also had the opportunity to play American football today but played in his church shoes. Don't ask me why, I may never know….(ha ha) since he leaves details out.
Well I just wanted to give an update on my son. Thanks for all your support.
